The results of the third annual study of commercial real estate (CRE) lending in Germany will be presented on Friday 4 December at the offices of Cushman & Wakefield. The International Real Estate Business School (IRE|BS) at the University of Regensburg who carried out the research, CREFC Europe and the other sponsors invite you to join us.
Germany is one of Europe’s largest CRE investment markets and a hot spot for both CRE investment and CRE lending activity. The IRE|BS report provides a detailed look at the structure of the German lending market in terms of regions, A-cities and property types. Understanding the evolving scale, margin and LTV profile of the German lending market is vital for anyone wishing to speculate as to its growth prospects.
The German CRE lending market can also provide insights into the broader European market. For example, as an increasingly competitive domestic market forces some German lenders to ramp up their international expansion, the impacts may be felt both by B- and C- cities in Germany, and by the markets into which German capital is diverted.
A presentation by the IRE|BS team will summarise key data and conclusions from the report, supplementing it with a longer time series they have derived from major German CRE lenders’ published financial information. Nigel Almond from Cushman & Wakefield will provide additional international context in the form of data and analysis from the UK and European CRE debt markets. A panel discussion will follow.
