We would like to invite you to join us to hear from a panel of experts on the rise of green finance. The seminar will be informal and take the form of a question and answer session chaired by Stephenson Harwood.
The seminar will cover:
• An overview of the Government’s Green Finance Strategy and how the Government is looking to implement these commitments
• The need for lenders to understand transition risk being faced by clients and how lenders can assist clients by accessing sustainable financing
• The experience of lenders on the growing demand for green and sustainability-led financing and how they are seeking to assist borrowers with meeting their green objectives
• Considerations of borrowers when seeking financing for green or sustainability-led projects and the support they expect from lenders
The panel will comprise of:
Peter Cosmetatos, CEO, CREFC Europe
Stacey Flor – Co-head of Origination at Wells Fargo CRE UK, which acted as joint lead arranger (with HSBC) on the first loan for a UK office development to meet the Green Loan Principles.
Robin Grenfell – Manager at Green Investment Group – reports to investors on the green impact of investments and advises on structuring green frameworks in support of green financing.
Ed Hogg – Head of Green Finance at the Government Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) with responsibility for the delivery of the Green Finance Strategy.
Mark Shenton – Head of Infrastructure & Renewables UK at NIBC Bank. Focus on lending to Digital Infrastructure, Communication assets – fibre networks and datacentres and Energy Transformation Assets – Digital Energy (Grid Balancing and Storage Assets, Electric Vehicles, Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure) and traditional renewable assets.
David Stephens – Head of Corporate Real Estate London at HSBC UK Bank Plc. David’s team acted as joint lead arranger (with Wells Fargo) on the first revolving credit facility provided to a UK REIT that meets the LMA Green Loan Principles.
