Emma Matebalavu is a Partner and is Global Head of Debt Finance at Clifford Chance.  She is a leading specialist in Digital Instructure financings including ABS and CMBS as well as European Real Estate Credit and Asset-Backed Finance.

Emma has advised on most European data centre securitisation to date – notably she acted for Vantage on the first European data centre ABS which won GlobalCapitalEuropean CRE Securitisation Deal of the Year and Overall Securitisation Deal of the Year as well as the subsequent award-winning German Vantage data centre ABS.  Emma has advised Morgan Stanley on the Dutch EdgeConnex Data Centers Europe and Goldman Sachs on £280m Equinix XScale Secured Funding 2026-1 transactions.

Emma was named as one of the Fifty Most Influential Lawyers 2025 by Financial News.  She is also listed for both structured finance and real estate finance by Chambers and Legal 500 and was featured in Financial News 100 Women in Finance 2022 and The Lawyer Hot 100 List 2020.
