We recently held the first meeting of a group that aims over the next few months to produce a paper to help lenders engage effectively with valuers in relation to sustainability and ESG considerations. This paper will reflect on the RICS guidance note on sustainability and ESG in commercial property valuation and strategic advice and further guidance in the process of being finalised by the RICS Commercial Lender Panel Management Forum, adapting the approach adopted by this AREF paper (for real estate fund managers) for a lender readership. If you would like to know more about this, or to be involved, please drop Peter a line.

Separately, we hear from our friends at CRREM that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has published the first draft of its Buildings Science Based Target Setting Guidance and Tool for consultation until 16 July 2023 – feedback can be provided through this survey.

Finally, this week there is, unusually, no new update from the UK Energy Efficiency Taskforce (you can catch up on past updates on the Resources page of our website).
