European banks' climate risk disclosures

The European Banking Authority has launched a consultation on climate related disclosures by EU banks. It includes a short section on real estate, focusing on EPC rating, country and the resi or commercial asset class distinction. Based on a quick look, we see the usual absence of awareness among financial regulators of the vital role banks might play in financing the decarbonisation of buildings. The consultation is open until 11 October.
