In the session, we will explore What Pride is in the Current Political Environment looking back at the history of pride and forward at why it is becoming ever more relevant with a view to broadening the understanding of current LGBTQIA+ issues and how these can affect the mental health of these communities. We will also touch on how we can support the mental wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ communities at work.

About our speakers:
A long-standing partner, Daisy is BCLP’s Global Inclusion & Client Engagement Partner and is recognised as one of the most influential LGBTQIA executives in the world. In 2024, she was the recipient of the Global law Firm Diversity Champion Award from Walgreens Legal Department as well as featured in The Guardian’s Pride Powerlist Top Ten LGBTQIA role models 2025. Under Daisy’s stewardship, BCLP has been recognised by a number of awards, including by Stonewall as a Top Global Employer, and also recently received the McDonald’s EMPOWER Award for commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Daniel is Founder and Co-Chair of InterLaw Diversity Forum promoting meritocracy and inclusion for all diverse, under-represented and socially disadvantaged groups in the legal sector. In 2020 Daniel was appointed Queen’s Counsel Honoris Causa for his contributions to capital markets in England & Wales through the Forum for US Securities Lawyers in London and for his contributions to diversity, inclusion and culture; and was awarded an MBE for “Services to Capital Markets, to Equality and Diversity in the Legal Profession”.
David is the Vice Chair for Stonewall Housing Association alongside his full time role as Head of Group Talent at Lloyds Banking Group, working closely with LGBTQIA colleagues and allies to ensure strong and visible leaders and role models across the organisation. He has lived across the UK and Asia and has a keen interest in LGBTQIA rights across the global, with a personal belief that irresponsive of where in the world we live, LGBTQIA people deserve a safe and authentic life.
