“How to Sustainability in Valuation": This session offers a comprehensive overview of the evolving integration of sustainability practices within the valuation industry. Attendees will gain insights into the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors that influence property values.
The session will explore practical methodologies for incorporating sustainability considerations into valuation analyses and will feature a demonstration of Sam Carson's innovative sustainability risk evaluation tool, designed to highlight the qualitative impacts of sustainability and climate risk that may affect real estate valuations today or in the future.
Participants will leave equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively navigate the growing importance of sustainability in the real estate market.

Sam Carson, Head of Sustainability, Valuation & Advisory, CBRE
Sam leads CBRE's initiatives in integrating sustainability considerations into valuation and advisory services. Sam has also advised the RICS in the integration of sustainability considerations into the Red Book and is one of the authors of the forthcoming RICS Professional Statement "ESG in Commercial Real Estate Valuations, 4th Edition". He also was the lead author on papers on how sustainability should be considered in valuations for CREFCE Europe and the Association of Real Estate Funds. He has been advising clients on sustainability matters including energy efficiency, Net Zero and sustainability reporting for nearly 20 years with JLL and Carbon Intelligence which is now part of Accenture.
