A few months ago we commented on a draft report being developed by the Circular Buildings Coalition about the introduction of circular economy principles into construction and real estate (as originally advertised here). The report, Towards a Circular Economy in the Built Environment, is now available here.
Circular economy is not discussed as much as decarbonisation or indeed social value, but it’s a fundamental component of a sustainable economy or industry, and a central building block of EU environmental policy development. We expect the concept to become much more mainstream over the coming years.
